The company Hellenic Furniture Lazarus O.E., in addition to its modern carpentry workshop, has a separate department for furniture upholstery at affordable prices, where in addition to production living room models, we carry out special constructions of fabric sofas as well as repairs (e.g. change in sofa upholstery and cushions). Each of our craftsmen - upholsterers is specialized in modern upholstery, while at the same time there is also an upholsterer knowledgeable in classic wallpaper (handmade quilting, spring seats, bourlé sewn with coconut, cotton fillings).
In addition, the workshop also has a sewing room equipped with new technology sewing machines for sewing pillows, covers and poufs. Specifically, there is the possibility of sewing leather or artificial leather as well as large-sized outdoor covers. The cushion seams that we undertake are of all types, such as French seam,burlet,flat roof, fillet etc. Especially for seams in outdoor cushions (e.g. sun lounger cushions, poufs) we use marine grade threads Dabond for a long life.

At the same time, we will accurately calculate the required fabric so that you know the total cost of your renovated living room. The calculation is done with a program for calculating optimal fabric cutting or with measurements from our upholsterer.

The above prices are indicative and are related to the type of furniture upholstery as well as the sewing technique (fillet, flat seam, French, etc.). In addition, we will calculate the cost of transportation separately as it depends on the floor, ease of access and weight / volume.

Repair process for furniture upholstery:
From the moment of receipt, in five to seven days depending on the design, your new living room is ready for delivery.
However, leather lounges, especially quilted ones with buttons, take up to 15 days.

Although we feel absolutely confident about the result when the fabric comes from textile mills that we have collaborated with for years, Yes It is possible to use your own fabric. However, you will not have the warranty that comes with our fabrics.
To start, you will bring us a small piece of fabric measuring at least 30*30 cm to ensure that it is suitable for the specific use. Finally, confirm that there is a possibility of replacement if there is a “parafasada” (a defect in the weaving of the fabric during production) in a part of the fabric. Even better, check it thoroughly when purchasing.
Technical information about furniture upholstery:
First, if a chair is made with springs, it is possible to upholster it with elastic straps (after removing the old springs), while the reverse cannot be done. The reason is that the thickness of the “crossbeam” is considerably greater in “spring” seats. Thus, the differences mainly concern the improved comfort offered by the springs, while they also have a longer lifespan. In addition, the construction method with springs does not strain the wooden frame of the chair during use.
The best qualities for each use (sofa upholstery, bed upholstery, sofa cushions, etc.) are the following:
Initially, for the cushions of fabric sofas, depending on the desired hardness, we use № 6000 (medium) or № 3500 (medium-hard). Correspondingly, for their backs, № 3000 (very soft).
Then, on the wooden sofas, quality № 6000 Soft (soft) on the seats and № 3000 on the backs (very soft).
Regarding outdoor sofas, armchairs and sun loungers, № 350 (soft), for light weight and easy installation on the cover.
Also, in the headboards of the beds, № 4000S (medium - soft). Finally, depending on your demand, construction can also be done with more economical qualities.
Restoration of varnish - paint before repairing your sofas:
To start with, we would say that it is advisable to do a complete furniture restoration – painting before our upholsterer puts on new fabric. This way you will really turn your furniture into new ones! Besides, furniture polishing - painting is only possible if the old upholstery is removed. Our company has a furniture painting booth and specialized personnel - polishers, so yes, we can take care of it.
